Classic + Whimsical Summer Wedding

Bright tones of blush and pink, paired with crisp white is always a winner palette for a classic Summer wedding. For the ceremony at Perkins Chapel, we kept classic in the forefront. Perkins Chapel is a staple for elegant affairs and the classic vibe always works. The reception, on the other hand, was really about adding in texture, whimsy and taking classic a different direction. The Dallas Scottish Rite is a blank page. While the undercurrent there is definitely stately, there was room to add some modern touches. Some of the tables were rectangles, allowing for banquette seating, which of course means centerpieces can take a more dramatic turn.

Leaving A Legacy at Aledredge House Dallas

I generally love a good photo shoot and opportunities to style pretty things are always fun. So, when Ciera of Ciera Chante Photography approached me about a shoot at the Aldredge House in Dallas, I was in! The theme was - Legacy. Specifically, how legacy impacts marriage both going in to one, and how the blessing of strong and lasting marriage leaves a legacy for the future. It was a meaningful theme and such a beautiful shoot. We wanted outdoors and of course I wanted texture. There was a vintage appeal juxtaposed with a botanical feel. My favorite was the greenhouse and botanical print sofa, I mean you just can't go wrong. Here are a few photos of our fun day.

Peony Fling

This wedding was undoubtedly one of my favorite affairs from last year. Three words -> Barn. Peony. Coral. This trio proved a vibrant and fresh pop against a rustic barn background. One of the bride's must-haves for this event was peonies. And really, who doesn't want them any time? Because peonies can take your budget from manageable to cray-cray, there are a few things we implemented in this wedding to make them affordable. First and most importantly, this wedding took place in prime peony season. This is typically May-June {for best prices}. Secondly, we utilized the bride's slim-mouthed bottles and containers to hold single peony stems. We splurged on a few places, the dramatic altar pieces and her bouquet, and kept the rest a less-is-more approach. And it truly was gorgeous!

Outdoor Spring Wedding

Outdoor events are about as lovely as they come. Especially, when the weather is gorgeous. For this particular event, we had exactly one day of good weather {the day of} with the venue being at a country club in Frisco, TX. We were actually setting up the ceremony décor while a golf tournament was going on {the behind the scenes at wedding set-ups is always interesting}. Here's a few photos of our florals...{and isn't the bride's blush-colored dress to die for?!}

How to use the Color Lavender {Hint: Pair with Blush & Cream}

Back in December we had the opportunity to do a wedding at Hollow Hill Farms in Weatherford, TX. It was a new venue for us to visit and such a quaint gem, tucked away in a beautiful pasture. The weather was glorious, the bride was stunning, and the flowers sported unexpected pops of lavender with blush and cream tones. I loved how the lavender broke up the norm of a blush/cream duo. Incense Cedar foliage brought scent and a winter element, while Succulents enhanced the textures. Here's a few photos of Chelsea's big day.
